  2. Once approved, go to your nearest Walmart location

  3. Choose the device(s) and service plan you want within your given approval amount*

    * Only devices and accessories count towards your approval amount
  4. Head to the Wireless department and ask the associate to lookup your SmartPay application in WARP

SmartPay is a separate leasing company that allows customers to lease Straight Talk and Total Wireless phones.

Each SmartPay lease includes a leased phone(s), monthly service and handset protection.

  1. Step 0

    Before beginning, please ensure that your WARP system and Ingenico reader are both plugged in and on

  2. Step 1

    Log into WARP terminal

    Select Carriers / New Orders from the Dashboard menu

    Select appropriate phone carrier (Straight Talk or Total Wireless)

    Select Lease Device with Airtime Purchase to indicate this is a SmartPay lease

    Ask the customer if they’re an existing customer on the chosen carrier. If yes, lookup their account

  3. Step 2

    The customer should already have submitted a SmartPay application

    Lookup the customer’s active application using their:

    • Date of Birth
    • Last 4 digits of SSN
    • Last Name
  4. Step 3

    Add the customer’s device(s) and service plan to the order

    Only eligible devices are listed with the monthly lease payment

    Since Total Wireless is a multi-line product, more than one phone may be added

  5. Step 4

    Scan or manually enter the UPC code of the selected device(s)

    Select the service plan

  6. Step 5

    Scan to UPC, IMEI, MEID, or ICCID information of the phone and SIM card

  7. Step 6

    Show customer the lease and automatic service plan refill agreements

    Have the customer sign both agreements

    The in-store payment and monthly payment amounts are displayed in the lease summary

    Print a copy of the agreements for customer (optional)

  8. Step 7

    Ask the customer to swipe their credit or debit card on the card reader attached to the kiosk*

    Debit cards must be tied to a bank account and no prepaid cards are eligible*

    The first month’s lease and service plan payments are debited in store at time of transaction*

    * Includes both the lease and service plan payments
  9. Step 8

    Some customers are asked additional multiple-choice questions

    Allow the customer to complete these now

  1. Step 9

    Print these documents:

    • How to Transact a SmartPay lease at POS
    • Order Confirmation
    • SmartPay Leasing Receipt
    • SmartPay Agreements (optional)*
    * Provide the customer with printed copies of these documents
  2. Step 10

    Go to the POS

    Scan the POS barcode on the POS instructions page

    Scan the Credit Card bar code on the same page for tender

  3. Step 11

    To activate the phone with the carrier:

    • If the customer is adding a lease to their existing account, the service plan will automatically be placed in reserve
    • If the customer is new to carrier, then activate using the service plan PIN printed on the SmartPay receipt
